Research Interests:
Lizzie is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Psychology in the Bilingualism and Linguistic Diversity Lab. She is interested in studying the social and neural mechanisms that support language learning and use in diverse, naturalistic environments. Before joining Penn State, she studied Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Chicago. There, she explored cross-cultural and cross-linguistic language acquisition and use in the Chatter Lab. She then worked at Baylor College of Medicine in the Hayden Lab, where she studied various aspects of language encoding using LLMs and intracranial, single-unit recordings. As a LinDiv trainee, she aims to study diverse language use via interdisciplinary methods that leverage advancements in language technology.
