Research Interests:
Maira is a bilingual doctoral student in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Maira holds a B.A. in CSD, and an M.S. in CSD from California State University, Fullerton.
Maira is a lab member of the Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Language and Bilingualism Lab. Her research focuses on the communication and language development of culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) individuals who use or benefit from augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). She is interested in the development of data-driven tools that may help speech-language pathologists servicing CLD individuals who use AAC.
