Research Interests:
Yifei Gong is a Ph.D. student in Cognitive Psychology and Language Science of the Bilingualism and Linguistic Diversity Lab. Her research interests center on uncovering the cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying bilingualism using both neurophysiological techniques and behavioral methods. Before joining Penn State, she studied the German language in Germany and earned a master’s degree in Linguistics from Lanzhou University in China, where she investigated the interplay between domain-general cognitive control and language control in Tibetan multilingual speakers from Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. She is a trainee in the NSF Linguistic Diversity NRT (LinDiv) program and aims to pursue interdisciplinary research that integrates AI (machine learning) to study the bilingual brain.
