Research Interests:
Ames is a second-year student in the Hispanic Linguistics M.A./Ph.D. program. They earned their B.A. in Spanish and Linguistics (graduating Cum Laude and with Honors) and M.A. in Spanish at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2023. Their research interests include social language attitudes, pronouns in gendered languages, and historical sociolinguistics. In their free time, they enjoy baking, crocheting, dancing, and volunteering as an assistant coach and choreographer with the Penn State Blue Band Silks.
